Loomit (b. 1968), whose real name Mathias Koehler, reached the age of 14 years for the first time to spray and gained his first experience with graffiti (and with the police) when spraying the water tower of his hometown. In 1985 he wrote graffiti and crime history as an organizer and complicity of the so-called "Geltendorf train", the first German completely sprayed coating ("Whole Train"). He went with the most famous Graffiti artists and tattooists in New York to teaching and became himself one of the greatest.
is long Loomit only legal move. Worldwide, he sprayed at the invitation of the various walls of public spaces, its still preferred playing field. But he also works on canvas in the studio, what thank him art scene with several exhibitions and galleries. In 2002 he received from the hand of the Lord Mayor Ude of Munich Schwabing the Arts Award. His paintings do not hide their origin and graffiti are but now much more than technically perfect wall adornment. He knows how brilliantly to capture the three-dimensional space on the screen. Architectural part, partly organic-looking structures meander deep into this space and shape - if you look closely - typically graffiti his name. Combined, the whole is often more or less photo-realistic landscapes and figurative representations. Quotes from Greek mythology, comic-like figures, female nudes and animals abound in this space and create a mysterious scene, which often evokes the imagination of the viewer a whole story.
